This is essentially the same as the Magic Guide I wrote that is currently on the OI site, but this one is actually accurate. There's just a couple things you need to know up front.
To be able to cast a spell, you must first learn the applicable scroll.
There is a 10 INT point requirement per spell level, to learn a spell. (i.e. lvl 2 requires 20 INT).
Familiars will replace your packhorse when summoned, but you can also use them as one.
The duration of your temporary spells is determined by your MAG. The higher your MAG, the longer they last.
